Job title :CYTOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST Community :KAMLOOPS Facility :ROYAL INLAND HOSPITAL Status :RELIEF PART TIME (0.81 FTE) Position Summary Interior Health is seeking a Cytology Technologist II to join the cohesive and diverse laboratory team at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, B.C.

The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is a growing 250 bed hospital in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals.

Located in Kamloops, RIH offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services.

RIH Lab strives to provide safe, convenient, respectful and accessible laboratory services to our patients.

Programs and services include chemistry, hematology, transfusion medicine, microbiology and pathology.

As the Cytotechnologist at this site, you will work in a team based environment and perform a variety of duties within the Laboratory related to established cytology procedures.

This is a hands-on and varied role which may include attending FNA fine needle aspiration clinics, managing files of tissues and slides, assisting with quality assurance and working in the Histology section of the Lab.

This is a relief part-time 0.81fte Cytotechnologist 2 position until the return of the current incumbent.

Days of work are Monday to Friday with weekends and stat holidays off.

Shift times are 07:30-15:30 are 08:00-16:00.

Qualifications Graduate of a CSMLS approved Cytology program plus two years’ recent, related Cytology experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) We invite applicants to self-identify as First Nation, Métis or Inuit within cover letters and/or resumes.
