61 Rockwell Drive, KentvilleNova Scotia, B4N 3V7Job Title:Cultivation Lighting TechnicianNOC Code: 2241 Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians Offered Wage: $60,000 annually (40 hours per week) permanent/full-timeWork Location:61 Rockwell Drive, Kentville, Nova Scotia, B4N 3V7Number of Positions: One (1)Required Language Skills:English (spoken & written)Key Responsibilities:Monitor and measure impact of lighting across all key metrics (energy consumption, cultivation yields, plant potency and health).Continually refine and improve lighting systems to improve production environment, plant outcomes and financial metrics.Implement lighting programs to enable enhanced cultivation, fertigation and integrated pest management strategies.Conduct regularly scheduled monitoring and maintenance of electrical systems to report inconsistencies and ensure proactive mitigation and resolution.Evaluate and test new products and sub-systems as part of a continuous improvement process and collaborate with suppliers, vendors, contractors and internal teams to implement chosen system improvements.Participate in all core cultivation activities to ensure deep understanding and monitoring of impact of lighting systems on all aspects of cultivation, including daily care and maintenance of plants and integrated pest management activities relating to cultivation.Understand and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) related to cultivation and ancillary functions in order to ensure compliance with applicable Health Canada regulations.Perform tasks necessary to keep equipment running and grow conditions in good working order and within applicable specifications.Respond and address any lighting issues as may be identified from time to time, including promptly responding to any urgent or emergency issues outside of normal working hours.Other operational tasks as may be assigned.Required Skills:The successful candidate must have the ability to:design, calibrate, test and monitor lighting systems and determine impact on plant metrics (e.G.

yield, bud density, cannabinoid and terpene potency etc.) and cultivation environment (e.G.

heat, humidity, pest and pathogen risks etc.) and make necessary adjustments to optimize plant health and reduce environmental risks (e.G.

heat, humidity); assemble, install, commission and repair lighting equipment and fixtures in accordance with manufacturer specification and instructions.

Experience with high pressure sodium lighting systems is preferred; program lighting schedules and patterns using electronic control/building management systems; andtroubleshoot lighting malfunctions and/or unintended impacts on cultivation environment and make necessary adjustments or repairs to lighting equipment, systems, lighting patterns and lighting schedules.Knowledge of and at least 1 year of full-time experience with:Operating within regulated cannabis cultivation environments; premium cannabis cultivation processes and methodologies including nutrient requirements, growing mediums, environmental requirements, plant maintenance, harvesting, post-harvest processes (e.G.
