The Senior Developer will be joining the High Value Customer team within the Customer Engagement domain.

The team is responsible for managing customer data and extracting insights from it for better engagement.

He/She will also build custom tools to be used by the personal stylists who cater to our high value customers.ResponsibilitiesProduct deliveryDevelop a deep understanding of the product roadmap for the squad, including future features to be developedContribute to high-level estimation and participate in laying out the development sequences, challenging the product roadmap and identifying areas where technical debt can be reduced or avoidedComplete independently complex development tasks and actively contribute to pushing code to productionWrite testable, efficient, and reusable code suitable for continuous integration and deployment, respecting best practices and SSENSE development standardsOwnership and accountabilityBe accountable for code quality, with the assistance of a Quality Analyst (QA), by conducting adequate testing Be accountable for performance, reliability, scalability and resilience of at least one technical component owned by the squad through SLAs and monitoringContribute to cross-squad initiatives, acting as a change agent amongst peers to foster adoption of new processes or technical solutionsKnowledge sharing and coachingReview Pull Requests with the objective to guide and upskill junior developers on various technical topicsActively contribute to SSENSE University, the internal peer learning platform, to promote continuous learningParticipate in the onboarding of new developers ArchitectureContribute to solution designs, challenging other members on technical decisions and explaining the technical design to junior developers so they can write documentation for the rest of the teamRecruitingParticipate in HR recruiting events, helping to identify and recruit top developersQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, Master’s degree an assetA minimum of 7 years of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) experienceExpertise in a microservices architectureStrong knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript and Vue.Js/ReactPython/PHP along with mobile development experience is an added advantageExpertise with NoSQL databases at scaleExperienced with modern test practices (Unit, Contract, Integration, E2E)Proficiency with cloud resources (AWS/Google Cloud/Azure)Confident with Event-driven architecture, distributed transactions, pub/sub patternFamiliar with modern development practices (CI/CD, Trunk Based Development, Feature Flagging)Ability to use containers and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, Helm, etc)SkillsHighly analytical and detail orientedTeam player with a high sense of accountability and ownershipAbility to influence and drive changeSolution-oriented mindset and can-do attitude to overcome challengesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and master frequently changing technologies and techniquesAbility to handle large volumes of data to extract insights and assist personal stylists in personalizing the customer experienceAdditional InformationWORLD CLASS TECHNOLOGY Technology is at the core of everything we do at SSENSE.
