University of Ottawa: Registered Nurses – Covid-19 On-Campus Assessment Centre

Position Purpose The University of Ottawa is looking to hire registered nurses to staff our COVID-19 Assessment Centre.

You will perform COVID-19 testing on asymptomatic University students and employees.

This is a full-time position (overtime may be required) for the lifecycle of the clinic.

You will work 7-hour shifts, Monday to Friday from 8 a.M.

to 5 p.M.

The centre is open from 8:15 a.M.

to 4:45 p.M.We are offering a minimum six-month assignment, which may be extended.Responsibilities: Administer COVID-19 nasal swab screening Set up and close nurse station every day Liaise with administration and staff Essential Qualifications Have a valid unrestricted Ontario nursing licenceExperience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as EPIC, Meditech or TELUS EMR Experience collecting samples and specimens (ideally swabbing)Ability to communicate in French or in English preference will be given to bilingual applicants Have a positive, professional and outgoing personalityBe good at prioritizing and multitaskingBe willing to go above and beyond to give excellent customer serviceBe committed to giving people the best care possibleBe able to wear required PPE for an entire shift (face mask, eye protection, medical gloves, gown, safety vest, etc.) except for breaksBe a strong team playerBe able to contribute ideas for improving the program Key Competencies Key competencies required at the University of Ottawa:Planning: Organize in time a series of actions or events in order to achieve an objective or a project.
