Construction Tech

Installation and relocation of coaxial and fiber cable.

– Test and implement new equipment and processes into network construction.

– Maintain a high standard of quality, ensuring that all Rogers Technical, Construction and Safety Standards
– Recognize and identify potential, customer impacting problems and offer viable solutions.

– Demonstrate a professional working relationship with fellow employees and contractors
– Direct and schedule contracted resources
– Validate quality of work and invoicing to ensure fair value for all dollars spent.

– Inspect and sign off on aerial installations as a competent and qualified person to meet ESA standards
– Liaise with appropriate departments in a timely, accurate and professional manner
– May be required to participate in the fiber on-call rotation within the Construction Team.

– Other duties as assigned
– Learn and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policy.

– This position is covered under the Metro Toronto Association Salary Plan QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
– Minimum grade 12 education, preferably post-secondary electronics diploma.

– Four years CATV experience and CATV Technical Training Level III completion.

– Must be familiar with CSA, utility specifications and ESA 22-04 standards.

– Must be familiar with current Rogers construction standards
– Good working knowledge of Rogers active equipment including Optical node alignment and troubleshooting .

– Good working knowledge of Fiber splicing, testing, documenting and troubleshooting.

– Effective organization and communication skills required.

– Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
– Valid Ontario driver’s license.

– Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.

– Working hours and shifts could include maintenance window.
