If you’re ready to take the next step in your career, we’re excited to bring you on to our team.Duties and Responsibilities:Direct and coordinate mechanical planning and implementation ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and work order requirementsReport work compliance with relevant codes, standards and proceduresUse computer assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD) equipment and software to develop designs together with the design teamCreate and revise production drawingsMake final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension and sizes, equipment list, and specification and detailsSketch rough layouts of equipment and duct design, plumbing drainage solutionsDraw finished designs from sketchesAdhere to company Drafting and Engineering StandardsCreate technical reports, documentation, calculations and sketchesCreate conceptual designs for assigned projectsDirect, review, or approve project designsConsult with clients to prepare project specificationsThe duties and responsibilities mentioned, while not exhaustive, represent responsibilities that the Mechanical Designer/Drafter will hold.

The responsibilities listed may change over time, as instructed by INVIRO.Qualifications and Requirements:5+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design and drafting (HVAC & Plumbing emphasis)Degree or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or DesignDemonstrated experience working on various retail/commercial building projectsStrong knowledge of the ASHRAE and other relevant codes and standards used in the design of HVAC and building systemsIntermediate level knowledge in the design of drinking water and sanitary sewage treatment and managementThe ability to understand and follow oral and written directions, to read complex blueprints, piping sketches, schematics and wiring diagramsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamFrench communication skills are an assetProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD design softwareExperience with Revit MEP is an assetLEED Accreditation, sustainable design background is an assetThis position is full time and located in Gloucester, ON.
