Mutual Fund Alternate Branch Manager – Montreal

This is a Contract position in Westport, CT posted November 15, 2020.

Reporting to and working with the Mutual Fund Branch Manager, our client seek an Alternate Branch Manager to provide Tier-1 supervision for all of their mutual fund representatives.

The alternate branch manager will also work with the investment team back office staff and supervise their day-to-day work.

Additional Responsibilities Shall Include:
– Ensure polices and procedures are properly implemented and followed by the investment team back office staff as well as all the advisors.

– Follow up on questionable trades and escalate to senior staff, as necessary.

– Prepare compliance reports for review by the mutual fund branch manager and other senior staff.

– Onboarding and training of new advisors: working with the VP of Business Development and Mutual Fund Branch Manager to ensure that new representatives are properly integrated.

– Work with the Chief Compliance Officer of the MGA on compliance policies and procedures for their insurance division.

– In conjunction with the mutual fund branch manager and Chief Compliance Officer, be a compliance resource for their staff and advisors.

– University Degree or post secondary equivalent.

– Licensed as a mutual fund representative with the Autorité des marchés financiers and must be in good standing with the provincial regulator.

– Successfully passed the branch manager’s course.

(or must be obtained within 4 months)
– Supervisory experience is preferable but not required.

– French and English both written and spoken.
