Divisional Controller

The Divisional Controller will effectively support our Business Group Leader with Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis through Operational Finance and Controllership as well as manage our Credit Team that provides service to branches/customers of this Group.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do: Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives Support the senior team with financial analysis to drive improved profitability and return on capital employed, including deal margin analysis and expense trends Participate in strategic initiatives providing financial leadership Prepare financial reporting packages for the Group on a monthly basis and summarize reports prepared monthly with a more in-depth analysis quarterly Coordinate and facilitate the business planning process including preparation of budgets and forecasts with supported reporting Ensure accounting policies are followed and implement new accounting policies as required, in support of our Head Office Accounting Participate in continuous process improvement focused on finance systems and processes in collaboration with our Head Office Accounting Team Provide financial support and partnership to Business Group Leader (BGL) as required Monitor financial performance and expense management as well as reporting opportunities and variances to BGL Assist with financial structuring of larger sized deals Support our Credit and Collections Team for the Group, ensuring team is aligned to goals and objectives of the Company Manage larger issues and/or customers as determined in association with BGL Keep Team apprised of any collections issues through regular monthly meetings with a focus on improving DSO, minimizing bad debt expense and reducing capital employed Oversee any credit issues through liens, collections or court proceedings as required We’d love to hear from you if you have: University Degree in Business or related discipline and an Accounting Designation (CPA-CMA or CPA-CA required) Safety conscious with 3-5 years post-qualification experience in a related industry Customer centric with proven leadership, coaching and team development abilities Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills to deal with internal and external customers at all levels Solid business and financial acumen with effective decision making and a mindset for continuous improvement Self-directed, independent and a team player with high initiative and integrity Sense of urgency and adaptable to consistently changing priorities in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Computer literate with proficiencies in Microsoft Word and Excel Here is what we can offer: Competitive compensation and premiums Disability Coverage – Short and Long Term Challenging Opportunities Global Medical Assistance Great People, Great Place Life, and AD&D Insurance Pension Plan with Company Match Health and Wellness Program Stock Purchase Plan with Company Contribution Employee Assistance Program Group Home and Auto Insurance Group Medical and Dental Benefits Toromont is committed to creating an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds can thrive.
